Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission is seeking highly motivated individuals to assist the U.S. Geological Survey as a Fishery Ecologist at the Western Fisheries Research Center (WFRC), Columbia River Research Laboratory. We are seeking a quantitatively minded individual to assist WFRC's Quantitative Ecology Team with a wide diversity of quantitative analyses. The incumbent will assist a range of statistical analyses, including application of mark-recapture models to estimate demographic parameter from telemetry data, updating, extending, and developing integrated population models for salmon populations, estimate abundance of fish populations, and other related analyses. The incumbent also requires strong writing skills to co- and lead-author technical reports and peer-reviewed publications, and strong communication skills for presenting results and explaining complex models to stakeholders, managers, and scientists.
