Job Summary Medical Laboratory Scientist are responsible for testing patient specimens, ensuring accuracy of test, and communicating results to providers Reports to: Supervisor, Medical Laboratory: Job Specific Responsibilities: Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: - Performs high complexity tests as directed by the Laboratory Director, including operating equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis - Test patient specimens, establishing and ensuring acceptable levels of quality control are maintained; determine suitability of specimens and ensure correct patient identity throughout the testing process - Recognize and investigate unexpected, uncontrolled, and unacceptable results Identify problems that may affect test performance or reporting of test results and correct problems when possible; document corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. - Ensure requirement of the CAP, AABB, DNV, and FDA (as applicable to section/shift) are follow...
