HRAC Mechanic

Job description

Amentum is seeking an HRAC Mechanic at Creech AFB to provide heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning services. This includes installs, servicing, repairing, and diagnosing environmental-control systems, all while utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout. Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications. Fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork and chassis parts using portable metalwork tools and welding equipment. Installs and connects evaporative units and air conditioners, motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans. Replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switched, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units. Position is represented by a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement. Essential Responsibilities: Works with minimal supervision and guidance, responding to service calls within the allowable time frame. Participation in Quality Control and Safety Program.
