POSITION OVERVIEW: The certified oncology pharmacy technician is responsible to compound both non-hazardous and hazardous sterile IV preparations. He/she must stay up to date and use excellent technique in complying with all requirements of USP 797 and 800 regulations. Must be able to perform basic math calculations. He/she is responsible to clean each item and restock IV clean room supplies. Technician should be able to perform monthly terminal cleaning (ceiling to floor) and carry heavy boxes of IV bags, both of which are physically demanding. He/she is responsible to manually charge for medications dispensed to oncology clinic patients.
