Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology (Part Time) POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiology Department provides quality service by performing a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for the admission of patients that are scheduled for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, stress tests, echos and chest pain (observation patients). The Nurse Practitioner works in conjunctions with the Cardiologist to provide consultation to in-patients. The processes of assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation is utilized. The nurse practitioner is an independent health care provider who will work closely in collaboration with the Medical Director of Cardiology and physicians of the Cardiology Department. RESPONSIBILITIES: - The Cardiology NP will deliver quality care in preparing cardiology patients for invasive cardiac procedures (cardiac cath/EP), echo and stress testing, evaluating and treating cardiac pts, obtaining consents, and following patients post cardiac catheterization as well as admitting and discharging patients from the cardiology service . - The NP will assist in growing the Cardiology line of services at Stony Bro...
