Part-time Lecturer: Law, Business, and Society

Description NYU Prague is seeking a Lecturer to teach Law, Business & Society, beginning in the Spring 2026 semester (mid-January-mid-May). Course Description: This course is an introductory course that provides students who have no previous knowledge with a basic understanding of the American legal system. The instructor will present legal cases and hypotheticals from the perspective of multiple stakeholders while focusing on the connection between law, business, and society. The instructor will also demonstrate how laws may reflect societal norms, promote material well-being and reflect economic/historical conditions. In addition, the instructor will illustrate the inherent difficulty in predicting exactly how laws will be applied. The course consists of a common core of customized course readings drawn upon judicial decisions, statutes, scholarly works and multimedia. This course emphasizes analytical writing of the type required in business and the written assignments are designed to help students learn how to engage in thorough analysis, address arguments made by both sides, and write clearly, concisely and convincingly.
