CNC Turret Punch Operator Location: Newport News, VA Duration: Full time, Contract to Hire Shift: 1st and 3rd Shift available (depending on the team's needs; Must be flexible to work on either shift) Pay Rate: Starts at $ 18.00/hr . (Depending on experience) Job Description: The CNC Turret Punch Operator is a skilled fabrication professional responsible for independently setting up, programming, and operating CNC turret punch machinery to produce precision sheet metal components. This role requires strong knowledge of blueprint interpretation, punch pattern optimization, and proper tooling selection, along with accurate tool loading, alignment, and program verification. The operator proactively identifies and resolves issues such as tooling wear, misfeeds, and material inconsistencies, performs in-process inspections, and makes necessary adjustments to maintain part quality, machine performance, and steady production flow while upholding high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
