Student - Communications Outreach Biology

Description : The student in this position will work with the department to better communicate our activities with the campus, alumni, and other constituencies. They will prepare and post stories with photos/videos for the Biology Department website and alumni outreach. The student in this position will report to and be mentored by Rebeca Roberts (Biology). There may be times when they will need to communicate with personnel in Campus Communications. Responsibilities: The student in this position will work with Rebecca Roberts (Biology) in identifying topics/events appropriate for coverage on the departmental website and other communications. They will attend events, take photos/videos when appropriate, perform basic interviews (in person or via e-mail) if needed, write up the story, edit the story based on feedback, and post to the website. They will work with personnel in Campus Communications to learn how to post/maintain the departmental website pages using the appropriate branding/writing formats.
