Job description

The Surgeon is responsible for the care of the pediatric surgical patient. This includes diagnosis, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of surgical problems in prenatal patients, infants, children, adolescents and young adults to correct various conditions, disorders and/or trauma and injuries. The Pediatric Surgeon is accountable for delivering comprehensive quality patient care according to standards of practice. The Physician functions as a member of an inter-disciplinary team within an integrated academic model. Responsibilities: (These responsibilities may range from 10 – 80% at a time depending on divisional needs) Performs other job-related duties as assigned - Assess, evaluate, diagnose and treat patients prenatally through adulthood according to evidence-based standards. - Analyze medical histories, diagnostic lab test and x-ray results, clinical examinations and perform physical examinations in formulating a diagnosis, plan of care and documenting in conformity with applicable professional standards, third party payer requirements and the Division’s policies and procedures. - Performs appropriate surgical procedures to correct deformations, congenital pr...
