Job description
The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions. This role sits directly at the intersection of hardware and software, where embedded code not only runs systems, it moves steel, powers motors, reads real-world sensors, and controls massive tunneling machines operating in extreme environments. Everything we build is developed and manufactured entirely in the United States. If you’re excited by low-level systems, real-world impact, and seeing your code control physical machines, this is a rare opportunity. Responsibilities: - Write robust, production-grade C++ for embedded Linux systems that monitor and control tunneling and mining equipment. - Work hands-on with real hardware: integrating sensors, power electronics, and control systems. - Design safety-critical software that operates reliably in harsh, industrial environments. - Develop and execute test suites for verification and...
