Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: Posting Job Description GENERAL SUMMARY: Delivers intraoperative care to the surgical patient, primarily in the scrub role. Serves the patients from neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Job duties may vary by shift or may be unit-specific as this position floats to cover all areas of Perioperative Services. The Surgical Technician First Assistant (STFA) carries out functions that will assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The STFA practices perioperative nursing and has acquired the knowledge, skills and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon through organized instruction and supervised practice. The STFA practices under the direct supervision of the surgeon/ Registered Nurse. The SRFA does not concurrently function in the scrub surgical technician role.
