Job Summary/Overall Objectives The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing general maintenance, repair and installation of various pieces of equipment within the facility according to codes and standards to provide a safe, comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors. WORK SCHEDULE: rotating shifts, day, evenings and weekend rotations. Essential Job Functions: Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities] - Respond to calls for maintenance assistance from patient floors and other departments. - Redirect requests to appropriate maintenance technician or supervisor as needed. - Performs preventive maintenance on equipment. - Inspect, adjust, clean and/or lubricate equipment as specified by procedure. - Change filters, belts, bulbs, and other consumable items. - Complete PM work orders and paperwork and forward to Maintenance office. - Assist other tradesmen or contractors assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. - Help with installation and maintenance of mechanical and other equipment. - Fires boilers and control the generation of steam supply (pertains to Boiler Operator position). - Start, stop, adjust and regulate water and fuel flow to mainta...
