Job description

Shift and status Part time , Rotating, Variable weekends. Job Summary: This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, specimens, and medication, throughout the hospital as assigned. Essential Functions: Transport patients safely, timely, and efficiently. This may include assisting with lifting the patients on and off beds and moving patients throughout the hospital. Requires the ability to recognize if the patient is experiencing stress or other issues during transport and immediately seeks assistance. Monitors O2, IV’s, catheters, etc. and alert appropriate personal with problems 100% of the time. Informs supervisor/dispatcher of all delays within 10 minutes. Maintains transport equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Returns all equipment to the appropriate location. Maintains and completes all departmental records, completes proper handoff before removing patient from dept/unit. Check all patients ID bands and complete two patient identifiers prior to transportation. Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.
