Job description

Introduction In Materials and Chemistry Group within ASML Research, we are looking at how light interacts with surfaces in presence of water. The light can split water to radicals which subsequently impact the surface properties. Your Assignment: This internship will be an experimental assignment. The goal of this internship is to study how light interacts with different materials and how that changes the properties of the materials surfaces. During this internship, you will: Learn what mechanisms and solution directions are on the topic: photodegradation of surfaces/coatings; Study the impact of light and water on compositional similar coatings, but with a variation in the outer surface composition; Measure and analyze: UV Vis absorption, Adv/Rec contact angle ( before/after exposure with/without water), Surface free energy of coating, to establish the impact on dispersive/polar component of, Surface composition by XPS/ToF-SIMS; Work in research labs and collaborate with experts; Write a report and present your conclusions and recommendations. This is a Master internship for 6 months, working 5 days per week. The project is also suitable for a thesis, but with an extended duration...
