Summary: The Principal Planner, under the general supervision of the Director, is responsible for complex professional planning work which involves organizing and coordinating short- and long-range planning activities and studies, gathering and analyzing research data, and preparing written reports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Determines data needs for complex planning studies and collects, analyzes, and evaluated the data - Prepares reports, projects, and exhibits as needed - Participates in preparation of long-range planning studies, corridor studies, Comprehensive Plan updates, and annexation studies - Develops, organizes, and implements short range land use plan measure including rezoning of property, zoning variances, abandonments, dedications, encroachment licenses, and annexation in accordance with City of Temple ordinances and plans - Assists Director in preparation for, and presentation to, the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council - Makes presentations to Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and other boards/groups as needed - Interprets and prepares amendments to the City’s Zoning Ordin...
