Job Description Overview: We are seeking a Traffic Management Specialist at the Traffic Operations Center based out of Grand Rapids, MI. This role will be full-time and involves managing traffic congestion, planned events, and unplanned incidents in a Traffic Operations Center and providing data entry and QA/QC for information in the State DOT Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS). The Traffic Management Center is a 24/7 facility, interested candidates must have flexibility to work various shifts and on holidays and weekends. Candidates interested must be able to work any shift (first, second or third) The training will take between 6 to 8 weeks to be completed, and it will be administered during the first and second shifts between the hours of 6:00am-8:00pm. Your role: - Tracks identified incident in software, notifies appropriate personnel, and provides additional responses as required. - Actively implements traffic management through the use of software to relieve congestion. - Activates alerts to public for construction events, Amber Alerts and incidents as appropriate. - Receives and responds to emails and phone calls or redirects to appropriate staff as necessary. - Coord...
