Job Summary Under the direction of the Registered Nurse Preceptor, the Nurse Extern’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, utilization of the nursing process in the provision of care, communicating with all members of the health care team to assure patient goals are being met and coordinated, providing excellent customer service while supporting the patients and families physical and emotional heath. Essential Job Functions: - Under the direction of the RN preceptor, provides patient care through an interdisciplinary approach by assessing, planning, providing care and evaluating outcomes. Assures necessary communication with the healthcare team to assist the patient in meeting their goals. - Under the direction of the RN preceptor, performs nursing interventions and documents according to policy and procedure assuring patient safety.
