WGN-TV is searching for a creative, informed, and innovative weekend Supervising Producer for the WGN Evening News. This position plays a critical role in the daily success of the show and requires a collaborative, adaptable journalist with line-producing experience. The right candidate may also serve as an Associate Producer multiple days during the week. Duties/Responsibilities: - Produce strong, compelling newscasts with a focus on accuracy, pacing, and storytelling. - Serve as a collaborative team player, working closely with other producers, the digital/web team, field crews, and the Assignment Desk to maximize newsroom resources and reflect the most important news of the day. - Write clear, captivating news teases and stories; review and edit writers’ scripts while maintaining editorial standards. - Contribute as an Associate Producer during the week and as needed, serving in a variety of roles including: - Fill-in line producing - Booking for weekend or weekday evening shows - Field producing - Willingness to work holidays, and non-traditional hours as newsroom coverage demands. - Demonstrate flexibility by filling in on other shifts, shows, or roles when staffing or breakin...
