Job description

As a General Labourer, you will remove unwanted materials from metal parts, castings, and other products to ensure a smooth surface, preparing parts for paint. These parts are used in the assembly of equipment that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. Location: 141 Consolidated Drive, Paris (position will start at 100 Savage Drive until Finishing Department moves to the permanent location in Paris) Dedicated Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday - Friday Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 3:15pm – 1:45am, Monday – Thursday Shift Premium: $3.00 per hour for afternoons Job Duties: - Read and interpret work orders, following the production schedule to ensure parts are prepared for painting in the order in which they are needed - Clean, sand, and prepare parts for painting, achieving quality standards for parts - Operate metal cleaning equipment, such as scrapers and grinders, to remove excess welds, scale, and other materials from the surface of metal parts, castings, and other metal products - Immerse metal products in cleaning solvents and solutions - Operate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib), to transport raw materials and finished me...
