Job Description: SUMMARY: Under general supervision, operates an automated sanitation truck to empty household carts on an assigned City route. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: · Operates an automated sanitation truck on an assigned route. · Conducts pre-trip safety inspections of sanitation truck prior to beginning assigned route. · Conducts post-trip activities on the sanitation truck, including greasing fittings and washing the truck. · Positions household carts for proper dumping; removes obstacles hampering truck operations. · Maintains route shift reports. · Provides assistance to other route drivers as necessary. · Participates in special event cleanup as needed. · Supports the relationship between the City of Ga...
