Job description

The Maintenance Mechanic 2 performs maintenance service and repairs in many areas, such as general electrical repairs and nurse call repairs. Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty. The position relies on guidelines and some experience and judgment to complete job and works under general supervision. - TECHNICAL TASKS - Keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs, and problems. - Takes proper care of tools and equipment. - Performs all work in accordance with codes and good practice. - Turns in all completed work orders by the end of the shift. - Properly performs overhauls on pumps, steam traps, steam valves, etc. - Makes rounds throughout the hospital and corrects minor maintenance deficiencies found. - Recognizes, and reports, equipment that is not working properly. - Reasonably completes all duties scheduled during the workday without interference to the quality of work. - Regularly makes rounds of equipment rooms and observes and records gauge readings and operation condition of equipment. - Periodically tests and adjusts boilers and chillers. - Regularly performs repairs such as replacing worn gaskets, tightening joints, replacing de...
