Department: Recovery Shift: Variable (United States of America) Employee Type: Regular Per Diem Type (if applicable): Minimum Pay Range: $59.28 - $71.14 Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: The Surgical Services PACU RN assumes responsibility and accountability for designated patients following surgical and special procedures, utilizing the nursing process. Provides care to these patients according to Marshall Medical Center’s (MMC’s) standards of practice. Provides intensive nursing care in the immediate post-operative period and until they have transferred the care of the patient to the Primary Care Nurse. Maintains good public relations by interacting with patients, visitors, physicians and other staff members in a friendly and professional manner. Functions as the patient’s advocate at all times. Oversees the performance of any non-professional whose activities impact their patient’s care. Ensures the safe handling of infectious material to protect all patients and employees.
