Overview This health care professional is a physician assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP) on the neurosurgery team of the Spine and Neuro department at Huntsville Hospital whose primary function is the co-management of patients (i.e., their diagnosis and treatment) under the supervision of the neurosurgical physicians within the recognized standards of practice in the clinic. Qualifications: Educat i on required : C ompletion of Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing or current Physician Assistant license. License, certification and/or registration: Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for NP or current registration through the Alabama board of Medical Examiners for PA. Approval of the Huntsville Hospital Credentialing Board.BLS required within orientation period. Experience: .Minimum one (1) year of work experience as a licensed NP/PA preferred. Inpatient, acute care neurosurgical or surgical experience preferred Additional skills/abilities: Must have proven ability to work in a team environment.
