Phlebotomy Technician II - IRL - ( 26003057 ) Description The University of Iowa Health Care, Iowa River Landing clinic is seeking a patient centered individual for our 100% Phlebotomy Technician II in the Pathology department. Under direct supervision, performs phlebotomy and a variety of difficult venipuncture procedures. Completes laboratory tasks related to routine phlebotomy labeling procedures, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Instructs new staff on phlebotomy techniques as needed, and monitors progress of trainees (Phlebotomist I’s). Job Responsibilities: - Performs all phlebotomy duties as assigned - Performs complex and difficult specimen procurement processes - Instruct and train others in phlebotomy techniques. Monitor specimen collection techniques of Phlebotomist I’s. Provide training and education on correct specimen procurement techniques - Responds to or may direct responses to inquiries concerning phlebotomy policies and procedures - Performs data entry and computer tasks related to order entry and phlebotomy.
