Job description
Provide support related to contracts for assigned program area. Ensure contracts are developed or monitored effectively and in compliance with VDOT policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines. To oversee the inspection and monitoring and compliance of signs and other traffic device maintenance contracts and TOC service contracts, interpret contract provisions, provide technical guidance to contractors and field personnel, resolve routine contract issues, monitor contract expenditures, and provide input in the development of maintenance contracts. How you will contribute: - Communications: Communicate with contractors to discuss contract questions, resolve conflicts and to review and respond to citizen concerns and complaints regarding contract related issues. Review safety issues and communicate to contractor. - Contract Monitoring, Inspection and Review and Oversight: Provide guidance and direction to field monitors. Review and verify completed contract work. Address and document contractor performance issues and notify manager. Review requirements from managers on prospective maintenance items and interpret and identify contract specifications in order to complete contract d...
