Job description
Summary Responsible for performing the installation and maintenance of all electronic and specialty equipment installed in city vehicles and the City of Garland radio communication infrastructure. Pay Range: $18 - $36 (Depending on Qualifications and Experience) Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Conduct the installation and/or removal of mobile public safety equipment, including radios, lights, sirens, GPS systems, cameras, and other mobile communication devices in emergency vehicles (e.g., police cars, fire trucks, ambulances) and public works equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with installed equipment and provide effective solutions. Perform routine maintenance and updates on existing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and city regulations. Document installation procedures, modifications, and maintenance work accurately. Provide technical support and training to city personnel on the operation and maintenance of installed equipment.
