The Opportunity: Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of full-time Meat Department Backup at our Selkirk Food Store located at 275 Main Street, in Selkirk, Manitoba . This position reports to the Meat Manager. The Meat Department Backup adds value to our Co-operative by providing leadership to the Meat Department and assisting the Meat Manager in day-to-day operations. Essential responsibilities of the position include the following: Interact with customers, provide recommendations and answer questions about cuts of meat, including cooking instructions. A full responsibility list will be provided to candidates selected for interviews. - Assist the Meat Manager in ensuring standards of department presentation and operations are met, including cleanliness and sanitation, food safety and food handling standards, inventory control, rotation, ordering and commitment buys, checking and responding to e-mails, assisting with inventory counts, and the delivery of world-class customer service. - Provide leadership and direction to employees in accordance with company policies, procedures, programs, merchandising standards and overall expectations. - Assist with scheduling departmen...
