POSITION SUMMARY: Quantity surveyor of reinforcing steel for a variety of lump sum projects ranging from under 1 tonne to over 200 tonnes. POSITION FUNCTIONS: core competencies qualifications working conditions The successful incumbent will be working 40+ hours per week in an office setting as well as occasional site visits. Frequent and regular use of the computer is required as well as exposure to the elements and loud noises are possible. - Completes detailed take-off of reinforcing steel for a variety of lump sum projects by the tender deadline. - Reviews scope of work, specifications, and addendums for respective projects to ensure accurate breakdown of material as required - Reviews and makes changes to estimates as per post-tender addendums. - Prints drawings, reports as required in completing tender process. - Use various software tools to complete all aspects of the role. - Excellent math skills - Blue print reading - Problem solving skills - Attention to detail - Ability to articulate terms, conditions, and intent of construction drawings - Post-secondary education in Civil/Construction/Architectural Technician Program or equivalent work experience. - Minimum 5 years’ exp...
