Description Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Summary: To perform a variety of venipuncture techniques and collect and process blood specimens from patients in support of laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This job profile may require call subject to the department's discretion. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of blood processing and handling procedures. Knowledge of relevant clinical and patient care regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. Knowledge of infection control and sterile procedures. Interpersonal skills to allay pay patient fears and interact with staff. Ability to perform standard phlebotomy procedures and techniques. Ability to comply with clinical protocol, specifications, and procedures. Ability to complete and maintain documents and records.
