Per Diem, Nights Position Summary: The Registered Nurse coordinates and provides safe care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The nurse directs and coordinates the care of assigned personnel. Performs charge duties as assigned. *BLS and ACLS must be through the American Heart Association. - Assessment - Identifies problems & implements appropriate interventions. - Assesses skin integrity and risk for falls each shift. - Assess patient’s response to medications & treatments. - Assessment completed per unit protocol. - Medication Administration - Medicates for pain per protocol. - Administers, transcribes & documents medications as per hospital policy. - Adheres to hospital P&P related to blood & blood products administration. - Documentation - Observes, collects and accurately records data utilizing nursing process. - Documents changes in patient status, reports to physicians & documents actions taken. - Completes admission & discharge form accurately. - Care Planning/Coordination - Develops written plan of care, incorporates teaching component & collaborates with interdisciplinary team. - Sets priorities for care of pat...
