Job description

GAI Consultants is seeking an Assistant Construction Technician to work in Virginia. This position involves construction field inspection and testing of construction materials. Inspection areas include foundation inspection, concrete placement inspection, and quality control testing. Must be willing to travel and stay near projects within work area which could be in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina areas. - Work with minor oversight after receiving appropriate training - Interface with clients and contractors on-site - Inspect foundation for adherence to project plans and specifications - Sample and test fresh concrete properties - Complete required form and draft inspection reports as required General Characteristics: - Basic computer skills, good visual and hearing skills, ability to follow procedures and protocols; good organizational skills; and strong attention to detail. - Good oral and written communication skills - Ability to work independently or as a part of a team - Working in the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, etc.) - Works with a safety mindset that aligns with GAI and our clients cultures - Must be flexible with work hours with willingness to travel up...
