CMA: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Patient Care: - Prepare patient for examination by recording vitals, medical history, and chief complaint. - Administer injections, medications, vaccines, and IVs as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure. - Perform laboratory tests (including point-of-care phlebotomy, specimen collection, and diagnostic tests) as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure. - Communicate test results, follow-up instructions, and address patient questions and concerns in a timely manner according to clinic policy. Clinical Support: - Assist providers with examinations and procedures. - Prepare examination and procedure rooms with necessary sanitation procedures and supplies. - Use clinical judgment to assess patients’ health status in person or via phone, and recommend clinic and/or ER visit as appropriate. - Collaborate with team members and other providers to ensure all patient-care and administrative duties are completed in a timely manner. - Travel to other clinics to provide support as directed by clinic leadership.
