Job Profile Summary The Seahawk NEST program is offered at two campus locations to prepare students with intellectual disabilities to complete an individualized academic curriculum which leads to vocational outcomes. Under limited supervision, this position provides advanced professional support by providing opportunities for Seahawk NEST Academy participants to develop social skills, study skills, and academic skills appropriate for their educational goals and help them develop the skills needed to become successful college students. Provide advisement, mentoring support services to participants in the Seahawk NEST Academy. Responsible for career exploration, assistance with completing college and financial aid applications, secondary and post-secondary school course selection, assistance with the college course registration process, and resolution of individual academic issues. Serves as the liaison between the high schools and Broward College to ensure implementation and successful progress toward project objectives.
