Senior Structural (Bridge) Engineer

Job Description Dewberry is seeking a Senior Structural (Bridge) Engineer in our Fairfax, VA office to grow and strengthen our transportation design practice. The team player we seek must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis on Structural Engineering) and 10+ years of experience delivering structural and bridge projects for VDOT, MSHA, and/or other state and local agencies. Understanding of the current state of practice for design-build projects preferred. The successful candidate will design simple and complex bridges (primarily of steel and concrete construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures and other ancillary structures). Bridge design work encompasses new and replacement bridges, bridge widening, and bridge rehabilitation. The candidate will be responsible for and complete all phases of structural project development including planning, scheduling, inspection, analysis, design, development of contract plans, cost estimates, and technical specifications and reports.
