Child Life Specialist 260000SI Description The Child Life Specialist administers Child Life services as ordered by a physician and in accordance with accepted practices of Child Life. He/she is responsible for evaluating, planning and implementing Child Life Services for the inpatient population. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Child Life (course work to include Hospitalized Child, Child Development, Theories of Play, Children and Families Under Stress, Child/Adolescent Psychology). (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of the field and committed to its purpose. Knowledge in child development, therapeutic activities, awareness of children’s emotional needs, and skill in dealing with common behavioral problems of children. Ability to work well with others. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. Computer system/software proficiency.
