Staff Accountant Company: Hartwig Mechanical: Location: Mokena, IL (in person M-F 7am-4pm Fridays off at 2:30pm) Type : Full time permanent employment. Pay: up to $70K per hour (DOE) Key Responsibilities: - Complete Journal entries, Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting - Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity - Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions - Support job cost tracking and project-based accounting - Assist with payroll review and related reconciliations - Monitor cash flow and support treasury functions - Prepare sales tax filings and assist with compliance reporting - Support external audits and provide documentation as requested - Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: - Associates degree finance, or related field - 2+ years of accounting experience (construction or mechanical industry experience preferred) - Strong understanding of GAAP - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Previous experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks. - Previous AR / AP Payroll experience.
