SALARY: $20.67 - $25.84 JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, feeds and cares for animals at the Animal Services Center; responsible for micro chipping, vaccinating, and administering humane euthanasia to animals; responsible for cleaning and sanitizing animal kennels, pens, and holding cages. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Provide and ensure the humane welfare and care of animals by providing food and water in accordance with established policies and practices. - Maintain a healthy environment by properly cleaning and disinfecting animal cages in accordance with established disease control policies and practices. - Humanely euthanize animals and maintain accurate written records of controlled substances in accordance with Federal laws. - Respond to and provide appropriate medical treatment such as: taking vitals, administering medications, and first aid to animals. - Receive animals and maintain associated paperwork such as an inventory log, animal identification and location records, and related medical treatment records. - Perform minor medical procedures including but not limited to vaccinating and micro chipping.
