Job Description Summary Job Description: GE Aerospace Research is looking for an innovative intern to help shape the Future of Flight in our Materials & Process Modeling technical organization. As a member of the project team, you bring expertise and experience in modeling and simulation of Materials and Manufacturing Processes, and programming skills in Python and C++. The scope of the work will be around thermal and mechanical modeling of metal processing , including welding, joining and metal additive manufacturing, using in-house developed codes in conjunction with commercial software platforms, such as NX, ANSYS, Abaqus, and/or Simufact. Qualifications/Requirements: Current enrollment in a full-time PhD program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Material Science and Engineering at an ABET accredited university. Permanent legal authorization to work in the US is required. This role is restricted to U.S. persons. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Must be willing to work from the GE Aerospace Research office in Niskayuna, NY.
