Description JOB SUMMARY: Utilizes nursing knowledge and expertise of communicable disease control as it applies to vaccine-preventable diseases and targets vaccine preventable diseases to promote and protect the optimal health, well-being and safety of relevant populations. The Nurse prepares and conducts clinics, provides related nursing care such as screening, health teaching, and immunization for recommended and required vaccinations. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, educational resources and other health care professionals/providers to achieve excellence in health services and education.Practices within the context of a client and family centered care model, and in accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice and Code of Ethics for registered nurses/registered psychiatric nurses, the Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards of Practice and the CHNC Public Health Nursing Discipline specific competencies and the scope of practice as set by the organization’s policies, guidelines and clinical practice documents and within own competence.
