Description The Criminology and Criminal Justice Program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Candidates should possess a PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Our program is committed to providing students with a holistic understanding of crime and crime control with a commitment to the intersections of social justice with the legal system. We encourage applications from persons with experience conducting research serving particularly vulnerable, historically excluded, and underserved populations. We also encourage applications from persons with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity in the justice system. Candidates will be expected to teach required and elective courses in the undergraduate and graduate Criminology and Criminal Justice curriculum. The preferred candidate will have teaching strengths that support courses in areas such as: race, crime, and justice; criminal justice systems; critical police studies; victimization; juvenile justice; mass incarceration; courts and law; white collar and state/corporate crime; and/or quantitative methods.
