About Department 457 – Electrical Engineering & Design Support Department 457 provides electrical engineering and design support for all fleet VIRGINIA, OHIO, LOS ANGELES, and SEAWOLF class submarines, including Moored Training Ships and land-based prototypes. We resolve emergent fleet issues, modernize and upgrade systems, provide life cycle support, and deliver technical reviews for electrical systems critical to fleet readiness.
