Job Description Bath Iron Works is seeking a Safety Engineer to join our Safety & Health department. In this role you will be responsible for assisting with the administration and management of occupational health and safety programs within the Safety Engineering discipline in a very dynamic, fast paced shipyard industry. Key Responsibilities: Safety Leadership: - Identifying workplace hazards and feasible means of abatement. - Participating in regular scheduled workplace inspections. - Developing fall protection plans. Project Execution: - Assisting with establishing and maintaining safety and health programs and management systems. Training and Development: - Provide training as necessary to ensure total safety culture is attainable. Team Collaboration and Communication: - Assisting management and supervision with the recognition and abatement of hazards. - Providing direction and technical support on compliance with OSHA standards and company procedures. Continuous Improvement: - Conduct root cause accident and incident investigations as well as developing subsequent corrective action(s). - Reviewing the effectiveness of compliance programs.
