Radiology Tech Assistant DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: - The Rad tech assistant is responsible for providing transportation of patients (ages pediatrics to geriatrics) to the Radiology department; also responsible for assisting technologists in performing transfers or ambulation to prevent falls; preparing patients and equipment for therapy and performing tasks to maintain department in orderly condition. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The above statements are only meant to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description. - Properly identifies self/Properly identifies patient using two identifiers. - Logs out patient. - Obtains hands off communication form. - Communicates with nursing personnel upon patients return to his/her room. - Transports patient in a safe, friendly manner; aware of their needs. - Properly obtains, returns, and secures oxygen tanks. - Prepares patients and equipment for therapy. - Protects patient information and maintains confidentiality. - Assists technologists in performing transfers or ambulation to pr...
