Description The Juilliard Drama Division Teaching Fellowship is a full-year program aimed at supporting the development of teachers of acting, movement, voice and speech, and/or the Alexander Technique. It provides mentorship as well as opportunities for observation and some supervised teaching. Fellowships support teachers who are interested in: - Observing a faculty of experienced teachers in an integrated actor training program - Joining a vibrant, diverse community dedicated to teaching and learning that seeks to prepare 21st-century theater artists – actors and playwrights – for fulfilling artistic lives and careers in the profession - Developing a deeper understanding of curriculum progression, exercise structure, and teaching methodologies - Benefitting from the mentorship of individual faculty members Opportunities offered to Teaching Fellows: In the first semester: - Observation of select classes on a regular basis with one or more primary mentors - Observation of other classes in the curriculum, rehearsals, and project showings - Regular conversations with the primary mentor about the work observed - Limited participation as directed and supervised by the mentor, potentia...
