Description Transplant Surgeon – Division Chief: UT Southwestern is the No. 1 hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth and ranks among the top 50 hospitals nationally in 12 specialties ranging from brain to heart to cancer care - the most of any hospital in Texas, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Hospitals rankings in the 2025 report, nine of our specialties ranked in the top 25 in the nation. The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Transplantation, is currently recruiting for an abdominal transplant surgeon to serve as the next Division Chief. The Applicant must be Board Certified in General Surgery, have completed a Transplant Surgery Fellowship, and be eligible for a Texas Medical License. The Division has grown to include 8 surgeons, performing >400 transplants a year across 3 hospitals on the southwestern medical district campus. The next Division Chief will report to the Chair of the Department of Surgery, as well as the Executive Medical Director of the Solid Organ Transplant Service Line.
