BIW Development Officer

Job description

We are looking for a BIW Development Officer to design and develop specific zones of the vehicle body structure (Body-in-White). The role involves leading design activities, coordinating a team of designers, and ensuring that performance targets related to structural strength and dynamic behavior are achieved. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of body structure components, ensuring alignment with project requirements in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and performance. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop defined zones of the vehicle Body-in-White (BIW) - Lead and coordinate a team of designers to achieve performance targets - Ensure compliance with structural and dynamic performance requirements - Define and manage key technical aspects, including: - Material selection - Mass optimization - Functional Performance Requirements (FPR) - Welding points and joining technologies (e.g., spot welding) - Develop and validate planning and packaging of BIW components - Optimize material usage through Coefficient of Material Utilization (CMU) - Ensure consistency between design, manufacturing, and assembly constraints - Utilize PLM systems and CATIA V5 (parame...
