Job description

The Town of Burlington is seeking an individual to perform skilled manual work for the Water & Sewer Division related to the general operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater collection systems under the direction of the Superintendent of the Water & Sewer Division. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: - Service, maintain and repair pumps and auxiliary machinery and equipment - Daily readings of pump station meters and gauges; maintain charts, records, and logs of activities - Install, maintain, repair, test, and adjust machinery used in the sewer collection systems - Utilize work order system and other electronic devices to complete daily assignments - Operate specialized equipment including air compressors and mechanical drives - Operate and maintain gasoline and diesel engines - Assist in snow removal operations; subject to emergency recall - Assist with other general facility maintenance and public works operations, as necessary Minimum qualifications include: This is a full time union position, 40 hours per week, within the Department of Public Works bargaining unit.
