Network Engineer, Journeyman

Job description

Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Network Engineer, Journeyman to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard. Responsibilities: - Design, deploy, and sustain enterprise network infrastructure: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and related network services. - Execute WAN and LAN upgrades to improve throughput, latency, reliability, and interoperability with existing and planned architectures. - Monitor network devices, WAN links, VPN services, and security integrations; detect incidents and performance issues and perform troubleshooting and restoration. - Manage network circuit lifecycle activities: provisioning, maintenance, testing, and disconnects per enterprise standards. - Assess site readiness for hardware deployments by evaluating connectivity, capacity, and environmental constraints. - Collaborate with architects and operations teams to support network design, implementation, and sustainment decisions. - Document configurations, changes, and technical activities to support governance, audit readiness, and sustained performance. - Support configuration management, change/release processes, and evi...
