Job description

Working under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation Maintenance, the Maintenance Craftsman performs manual works of a skilled and semiskilled nature in the maintenance and care of recreation areas, athletic fields, parks and playgrounds. Examples of work include: - Ground maintenance tasks. - Maintains all public and school athletic fields, parks and playgrounds. - Operates, maintains and repairs specialized vehicles, equipment, and tools. - Performs semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical and masonry duties. - Maintenance of recreational facilities. - Responds to weather emergencies. - Performs related work. Minimum qualifications include: This is a full time, 40 hours per week union position within the Burlington Municipal Employees Association bargaining unit. Salary is within Grade 6A, of the BMEA contract, offering annual increases via step system.
