Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse-Angio Specialty functions in an academic medical center with Level One Trauma designation, ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) receiving center designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center accreditation. Demonstrates advanced knowledge in invasive interventional procedures for stable and unstable inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills. Scrubs, circulates, and/or assists physicians in performing simple and complex diagnostic and interventional procedures including, but not limited to, line placements, drain placements, biopsies, vascular stinting, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt procedures, embolizations and neurodiagnostic procedures. Performs the nursing process independently and serves as a role model in multidisciplinary age-specific and developmentally appropriate patient care delivery methods, problem solving, documentation and communication.
